What Happens On Your First Visit
The first visit is a conversation and an examination before it is anything else, because what gets treated is decided by what the examination finds.
Before You Come In
What To Bring, And What To Wear
Photo ID
A driver licence or any government issued photo identification.
Insurance card
If you are using insurance, bring the card. If you are paying directly, you do not need one.
Your medications
A written list is easier than trying to remember. Include anything over the counter you take regularly.
Any imaging you already have
Reports or discs from a previous X ray, MRI or CT scan, if you have them. Not required.
Wear something you can move in. The examination involves being asked to bend, turn and hold positions against resistance, and that is difficult in stiff work clothes.
What Actually Happens
Conversation First, Then Examination
Nothing gets treated before it has been examined, and that is the whole reason the first visit is structured the way it is.
1. The history
What happened, when it started, what makes it better or worse, what you have already tried, and what you actually want to get back to doing.
2. The examination
Movement, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and manual muscle testing. Serious causes are screened for here, before anything else.
3. What was found
An explanation in plain language of what the findings point at, what can reasonably be done about it, and what cannot.
Will you be adjusted on the first visit?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on what the examination shows. If a finding needs ruling out first, you will be told that instead, and referred for imaging or a medical opinion. Being sent away with a referral rather than a treatment is a proper outcome for a first visit, not a wasted trip.

Finding Suite 710 On Green Oaks
The clinic is at 3825 W Green Oaks Blvd, Suite 710, in west Arlington. It sits inside a multi-suite building, so the suite number matters more than the street number once you are in the car park.

- Arriving five minutes early gives you time to get settled without rushing.

How long does the first visit take?
Longer than a follow up, because the history and examination are the bulk of it. Allow more time than you think you need, and arrive a few minutes early so that finding Suite 710 is not part of the appointment.
Do I need a referral?
Not in general. You can book directly online or by calling 817-800-7136. Veterans using the VA Community Care Network are the exception and need a referral from their VA health care team before the appointment is scheduled.
What should I wear?
Something you can move in. The examination asks you to bend, turn and hold positions against resistance, which is awkward in stiff or restrictive clothing.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Plenty of people bring a partner, a family member or a friend, particularly if they want a second set of ears on the explanation at the end.
Is there parking?
Yes, free parking at the door. The clinic is inside a multi-suite building at 3825 W Green Oaks Blvd, so head for Suite 710 once you are inside.
What if I need an X ray?
There is no imaging equipment in this building. If the examination points to a scan, you get a referral for one. That keeps imaging tied to a finding rather than being run routinely on everyone.
